In Memory of Faralyn Feather
1962 - 2005

This was the request of the Pe'ta Project for him

Faralyn Feather and his 5 children need your help

Faralyn Feather is a 42 years old Ihanktonwan Dakota Sioux, a single father, living and taking care of 5 of his children (Pharo 19 years, Trevor 17 years, Cody 16 years, Taran 11 years, Faralyn Jr. 9 years) in Wagner, South Dakota, on the Yankton Sioux (The Friendly People) Reservation.

Since 4 years Faralyn has cancer (Pancytopenia, Leukemia,), and is waiting now for a last chance, a bone marrow transplantation. They told him he has only 1 (one) to 1,5 (one and a half) more year to live. We hope and pray the transplantation will change this and he will have a long and healthy life with his family. There is a big hope, because the hospital found a bone marrow donor who match 9 to 10, this could make the difference for his health. We are expecting every day that he can go to the hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He will be there about one month, get the transplantation and a chemo-therapy. And then will come home again to his kids.

He worked hard for many years, to feed his family, but since his health is so bad, he can not work anymore.
Since 2 years the basement is filled with stinky water because the sink is not ok. He asked many times for help, but the situation is still the same, even if there are now some changes, hopefully it will be fixed soon. This was and is no healthy place for a very sick man and also not for children. When Faralyn will come home after his treatment in the hospital he needs healthy food, medicals, help in the household, he needs to recover, find new strength to survive.

He never asked for help, tried his best for his children and himself, but NOW he needs YOUR HELP.

His family is in need of:
Clothes, Shoes, Beds. Blankets, Pillows, glasses for Trevor, school items, toys, perhaps a bicycle, healthy food, medicals,
financial help for electricity, propane, money to travel and stay for his kids to visit him during his time in the hospital, and more.

YOU can make the difference. If everyone of us would just make a small donation, we all together can help a lot.
If you decide to ask for donations for the Feather family where you live, please download our flyer. Please tell us if you made something special to get donations and please send the donated money to us. Thank you!
