the waves at Sea call my name and Mother Earth cradles those vast waters I share her tears nobody could ever forget yesterday that setting sun oh-man it was so beautiful purple and orange clouds such magnificant arrangements scattered across the sky so beautiful to witness the powder blue above and beyond the mountains those drops of magic fall and tricle they're way down into the parched dry realm of my heart this is the life giving substance that sustains my empty experience inside this hollow drum emptiness is okay with me and the freeway rolls right through my open heart mother.... © by Daniel Worthen when blue green dragonflies dance like rainbow lake a world full of color a wonder to see certain thoughts like birds take flight across the lake and further here now alone with Grandmother in the cradle that was her lodge, her presence the smells of her cooking fire mushroom stew and acorn mush full of shadows and wonderful things her stories are woven from her heart to mine sewn on leaves of changing season all glowing with the touch of Grandmothers heart today I gave thanks today I burn flat-cedar in a shell my feather touches the smoke and wish-up to Sky Spirit birds from the center of my hollow drum.... |
