the American Cherokee Confederacy of Georgia of the Deer Band
of Pennsylvania. I'm always struggling to learn all about my people,
but only being state recognized and not federally, I'm hindered
in finding a knowledgeable traditional Cherokee Elder to guide
me along the spiritual path.
I'm an advocate for incarcerated Native American rights, and our
right to practice our spiritual beliefs with various accommodations.
I started the first American Indian Group in here, a maximum security
prison with a surrounding 40 foot wall. I play the keyboard, enough
to entertain myself. I partake with others in the Native drum,
and sing within the spirit. I speak, write, and read Cherokee.
I listen to Cherokee dance and music songs on my cassette tape
player. Depending on my mood, I also listen to varous non-native
music on my radio or TV. I am a carpenter, and I enjoy making
craftwork. I partake in College courses. I am an open minded person.
My preference of pen friends would be of other Cherokee Native
Americans, Asian People, and females, but I'll write to anyone

Interests/Looking for: All that reads this know that I am
not soliciting. The Florida Departement of Corrections has made
this new rule that reads "Rule 33-210.101(9) Routine mail
that prohibits inmates soliciting for pen-pals, money, goods,
or services, But inmates are allow to correspond with pen-pals
- smile. This rule was made due to a couple inmates playing head
games with pen-pals and now one woman is doing everything in her
power to hurt everyone on Florida's death row. She has made it
her mission in life to hunt down ads of inmates on Florida's death
row and turn them over to the Warden inwhich gets the inmates
in trouble. Florida is the only State in the USA with this rule.
It's clearly an inmate violation of free speech. It's a rule that
is illegal and has to be fought by people on the outside. This
rule is really hard on guys on the row with no family contact,
that needs some outside contact. What makes matters worse in my
case, I am innocent of the crime that has me setting here. I can
read and recieve letters. I just cannot solicit for pen-pals. |
